Grocery store owner shot during alleged attempted robbery in Achrafieh

The victim sustained two gunshot wounds "and is in a critical condition," a medical source at Rizk Hospital tells L'Orient Today.

BEIRUT — A grocery store owner was shot, allegedly by two young men who tried to rob him, around midnight on George Tabet Street in Achrafieh on Saturday, a source at the Internal Security Forces told L'Orient Today. The source named the store owner as Walid Ibrahim.

"He was then taken to the intensive care unit at Rizk Hospital," the ISF source added.

When contacted by L'Orient Today, a medical source at Rizk Hospital said the store owner had sustained two gunshot wounds "and is in a critical condition."
