A dispute between two families in the Beddaoui region of North Lebanon degenerated into armed clashes on Monday morning, leaving one person dead and another wounded, reports our correspondent in North Lebanon. Heavy gunfire was heard and a grenade was thrown, exploding violently, according to local residents.
The clashes initially left two people wounded, who were immediately taken to Tripoli's Islamic Hospital. But one of them did not survive his particularly serious injuries.
In a fit of anger, members of the victim's family immediately ransacked the hospital's emergency room. The Lebanese army was deployed to the scene to bring the situation under control and is working to find the gunmen.
One of the gunmen quickly surrendered to military intelligence.
