Haitham Hamzah, a 7-year-old Palestinian boy, was killed on Friday night by a wild dog in the Palestinian camp of Rashidiyeh in Sour, a relative and a source at the Saida Governmental Hospital told L'Orient-Le Jour.
The camp source told L'Orient-Le Jour that four children were bitten in the Rashidiyeh camp on Friday night by wild dogs. Two of them were moved to the hospital: Hamzah and another child, who is in critical condition.
The head of Saida Hospital where the boys were taken told L'Orient-Le Jour that the dog bit them violently. Their noses and faces were severely injured.
He also said that a mom brought her daughter as well after a dog bit her at the Rashidiyeh camp.
The Popular Palestinian Committee in the Rashidiyeh Camp released a statement urging parents to keep their children away from the dogs to avoid a similar situation.
A source at the camp told L'Orient-Le Jour that several people started hunting dogs and managed to kill a one.
