In numbers: Hezbollah’s casualties

After Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on Oct. 7, Hezbollah opened a battlefront in support of Hamas from Lebanon’s south.

The party officially became involved in the conflict on Oct. 8, when it launched rockets and artillery shells at Israeli positions in the disputed Shebaa farms.

Since the start of hostilities, over 100 Hezbollah fighters have died, according to the party’s official statements.

Casualties peaked during the third week of violence, between Oct. 21-27, when the party lost 34 fighters.

The eighth week of the conflict, between Nov. 25 and Dec. 1, saw the lowest number of casualties and coincided with the truce between Hamas and Israel.

Since Dec. 1, Hezbollah has lost at least 40 additional fighters and the numbers keep increasing as border escalation continues.
