BEIRUT — Two people were injured, one in critical condition, after a store's roof collapsed in the town of Tyrdeba, south Lebanon, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the region reported.

Paramedics from the Resala Tyrdeba Association worked to transport the wounded to area hospitals.

The roof collapsed while Syrian laborers were renovating it.

In June, a woman was injured after a ceiling collapse in Ain al-Hilweh camp, near Saida.

Such incidents are frequent in Lebanon and concerns are rising about the dilapidated state of many of the country's buildings.

A Tripoli classroom's ceiling collapsed in November 2021, killing 16-year-old Maguy Mahmoud and sparking public outrage.
