BEIRUT — A fire that broke out at dawn on Wednesday has completely destroyed the famous Rikky'z restaurant in Faraya, Civil Defense spokesman Elie Abboud confirmed to L'Orient-Le Jour. Abboud added that no casualties resulted from the blaze.
The restaurant, which was built entirely of wood, caught fire at 5 a.m., Abboud said, explaining that firefighters managed to put out the blaze at around 8 a.m.
"A Civil Defense team is on its way to the restaurant to try to determine the cause of the fire," he added.

Myriad reports abound as to the cause of the fire, although none has been verified thus far. Some internet users claim to have heard the sound of an explosion before the flames spread.
Rikky'z welcomes tourists and partygoers all year. The establishment is popular with regular visitors to the Faraya region and is renowned for its nightlife.
