Suspect injured during army raid in Brital

BEIRUT — A wanted man was injured during an exchange of fire between a Lebanese army unit and individuals in the town of Brital in the Bekaa Valley Saturday. The army was carrying out a raid on the suspect's house in an effort to apprehend him and his brother, who is also wanted, a security source confirmed to L’Orient Today’s Bekaa correspondent.

Army operations continue in Brital to find the shooters and wanted individuals, who are armed with automatic weapons.

Security incidents are frequent in the Bekaa, a region where weapons are widely circulated and where there are sometimes fights between the military and suspected criminals and members of heavily armed clans.
