BEIRUT — The vehicle Registration Center in Dekwaneh on Thursday announced that it will start accepting appointments online through its website starting today.

"Citizens can now visit our website at www.tmo.gov.lb to schedule appointments to undergo services starting today for next week for the days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the services available in the Dekwaneh center," the public institution said.

Lebanon's vehicle registration centers experienced widespread closure in 2022, after what a tweet from the Grand Serail described as a "mass arrest" of employees on corruption charges.

Some of the dozens of arrested registration center employees were later released, but work at the centers remained suspended. The vehicle registration centers re-opened in April but experiences massive traffic jams.

Arrests had also been made recently among employees in Mount Lebanon districts. Officials in those departments, especially in Baabda and Metn, who allegedly amassed huge sums through bribes from taxpayers, are currently being prosecuted.
