BEIRUT — A female beggar was shot in the head Saturday night in the South Lebanon city of Saida, a security source told L'Orient-Le Jour's correspondent in the area. According to the source, the woman was shot by mistake after a shooting took place at the intersection facing the Spinneys supermarket in the city.
The source added that neither the perpetrators of the shooting nor the reasons for it are known.
The woman was transferred to the nearby al-Hamshari Hospital. The hospital was not immediately available to give more details on the woman's condition.
Security forces attended the scene of the shooting and have opened an investigation.
