BEIRUT — Abdullah Nasr El-Din Taha, who was kidnapped one year ago from his hometown of Kamed al-Lawz in Western Bekaa, was released Sunday morning in Baalbeck by unidentified people.

According to a source, a ransom of $100,000 was paid for his release.

Taha, a wealthy businessman from the Lebanese diaspora, was abducted in late August 2021 in front of his house in Kamed al-Lawz, L'Orient Today's correspondent reported at the time.

L'Orient Today tried contacting the Internal Security Forces for comment but at the time of publication the ISF had not responded to the request.
