BEIRUT — The prices of gasoline and diesel have seen a sharp increase on Friday afternoon in Lebanon, in the context of rapid depreciation of the national currency against the dollar on the parallel market. Gasoline prices had already been modified Friday morning and experienced the second increase in less than twelve hours, while diesel prices had not yet been updated Friday.
Here are the new fuel prices announced Friday afternoon by the Ministry of Energy:
• Twenty liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL616,000, up by LL13,000
• Twenty liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL630,000, up by LL13,000
• Twenty liters of diesel (for vehicles): LL779,000, up by LL28,000
Prices of domestic gas and fuel oil were not communicated in the new afternoon schedule. This morning, they amounted to LL 331,000 for a cylinder of domestic gas and $1,051 per kiloliter of fuel oil.
