BEIRUT — Lebanon on Monday qualified for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup after beating India 95-63. This is Lebanon’s fourth time to qualify for the Basketball World Cup.
Here's what we know:
• Following Monday's the game, FIBA Basketball World Cup’s Facebook account posted “Welcome back to the big stage Lebanon.”
• On route to qualification, Lebanon beat Philippines on Thursday at home at the Nohad Naufel Stadium in Zouk Mikael near the port city of Jounieh.
• Lebanon last qualified for the Basketball World Cup in 2010, when the tournament was played in Turkey.
• Lebanon is set to play New Zealand at home on Nov. 10 as part of the final games of the qualifiers.
• Last month, Lebanon came second in the Asia Cup, losing to Australia by one point.
