BEIRUT – Fuel prices rose again Tuesday morning, as the lira lost more value against the US dollar.

Here’s what we know:

• The cost for 20 liters of 95-octane fuel rose by LL10,800 (3.5%) to LL318,800.

•The cost of 20 liters of 98-octane fuel rose by LL11200 (3.5%) to LL329,800.

•The cost of 20 liters of diesel fuel rose by LL17,800 (5.5%) to LL338,900.

•The cost of a canister of cooking gas rose by LL13,700 (4.9%) to LL293,500.

•George Brax, spokesperson for the gas station owners’ syndicate, said “The rise in the exchange rate of the dollar, which touched 27,000 pounds, is the main reason for the rise in fuel prices.”
