Phil and Joe, a new hybrid concept blending a high-end cafe and champagne bar, opened on May 10 at ABC Achrafieh in Beirut. Set in an Art Deco space with oriental flourishes, the venue was created by longtime friends, Philippe Skaff and Joseph Aoun, who wanted to create "a place where one feels pampered and taken care of in Beirut." Skaff, a visual communication expert who previously worked at Grey International, and Aoun, a coffee entrepreneur in Eastern Europe, have known each other for over 30 years."It's a hobby for us," said Skaff.
