A $1 billion aid package emerged from the conference held Thursday in Paris, spearheaded by French President Emmanuel Macron to support “the people and sovereignty of Lebanon.”The initiative is part of France’s ongoing efforts to assist a country grappling with the Israeli military offensive for the past month.
